COLLABORATION & PARTNERSHIPS
Our patients experience significant financial, geographic and cultural barriers to accessing care. Operation Smile Australia works hand-in-hand with local medical professionals, governments, hospitals and other NGOs to break down those barriers and ensure that children around the world get the care they deserve.
"I think the legacy of Operation Smile is not just cleft care, but an awareness that all children and all patients with other conditions can benefit from improved health care standards.”
- Dr. Richard Lewandowski, Plastic Surgeon, Operation Smile Australia Co- Founder, Volunteer for 20 Years
"Working with people all over the world who use different surgical techniques has helped me become a better surgeon. It’s a great opportunity to experience how surgeons from other countries operate.”
- Dr. Mamy Lalatiana Andriamanarivo, Pediatric Surgeon, Madagascar, Volunteer for 8 Years. Dr. Andriamanarivo also serves as Madagascar’s Minister of Health and is the Dean of the Medical School at the University of Antananarivo.
